How To Edit Minecraft Server Files The web based FTP client lets you manage your Minecraft server files with ease from your panel. To access your Minecraft server files using the web-based client, go to FTP File Access and log in using your panel password. Once authenticated, you will be directed to the home directory of your server. Navigating Server Files Navigating through server files is similar to what you do on your desktop. In the middle is the directory structure, we can navigate to, choose and modify our files from here. Click the appropriate folder to open it and browse its contents. To edit the file, click Edit. To download the file simply click the name. There are options to manage the files you've selected. While you have the selected items selected, you can assign specific actions to them, such as: Move Files - Move selected files to another directory on your server. Raunge Select Delete - Permanently remove selected files. Copy Make a copy the selected files Rename - Rename specific files Download - Select files can be downloaded in an archive format. Zip - Archive selected files and save onto the server. Unzip - Copy the contents of the archive to the directory you're presently in. Edit Text Editor - Use an editor for text to edit the file. Create a New Folder and Files You can create new folders or files directly from your panel selecting the New Dir or the New File Upload option located on the left side menu. New Dir - Create a new directory (or folder) New File - Create a brand new plain text file. Upload - Upload a set of files or an archive. You can only upload single files using the Upload option. You are not able to upload entire folders. Minecraft servers Uploading an entire folder will require you to first archive it first and then unzip it. Limitations The web-based FTP client is quick and easy to edit server files and uploads. However, it does have limitations. The panels web page acts as an intermediary between file exchange, allowing you to upload new files as well as make changes to existing server files. This means that you are able to only upload a certain quantity of files in one session. The limit is 50mb. Any file commit or upload greater than this must be done with a third party FTP client like Filezilla. Third-party FTP clients like Filezilla do not have a limit on file size since they connect directly to your server's files instead of the web-based FTP client.
